Thank you for your interest in the Oxford Migration Studies Society’s 2014 Conference taking place on Friday, May 16th and Saturday, May 17th 2014 at Kellogg College, University of Oxford!
The theme for this year, ‘Changing Global Realities: Migration, Movements, and Social Transformation’, is centered on the questions: What is the role of migration in generating major social change? And how does this in turn impact migration processes?
Drawing on recent socio-political events around the world, this conference will focus on the role of migration in initiating, supporting, or constraining social transformations. The conference will facilitate regionally-specific paper presentation workshops in order to examine events such as the large-scale demonstrations in Brazil, Bulgaria, and Turkey, the Arab up-risings, and forced evictions and dislocations in Thailand. We would like to invite you to engage with the conference theme in an interdisciplinary and trans-disciplinary manner.
Registration will be open until May 16th 2014.
